DailyCupOfTech posts visual step by step information on how to upgrade Ubuntu Linux from 6.06 LTS to the shiny new Edgy Eft (6.10). Personally, i’m still waiting for the LTS version to come out (a few weeks/months maybe?) to be able to ship it and enjoy a stable system.

For the moment only 6.06 LTS is available on CD. You can get your hands on this older but more stable release via one of the mirrors or by shipping it by mail for FREE.

Note: As described in this previous article, Lebanese users will have to post their POBOX information to get the Free Cds.

Did you upgrade to the new Ubuntu release?

updating 6.06 to 6.10 broke my system :S. I downgraded and am waiting for a more stable release. I wish i read this article before upgrading. Anyway, thanks for the warning Samer!

The next LTS release will now not be until at least edgy +2, maybe +3. so 7.10 or 8.04, to co-incide with the run out of Dapper LTS
