While checking my mails on Gmail today, I noticed Google has developed a Java app that lets you check Gmail directly from it (and not from the web interface).

gExodus is a nice tool that can forward all of your messages to your gmail account. note that the date will not be conserved as the message is being forwarded, but you can add a prefix to all the subjects e.g. ” [imported] e-mail subject “. Keep reading »
Gmail Skins is a cool Firefox extention that lets you change the look and feel of Google’s mail service layout. it can:
- Change the colour/skin of your inbox
- Insert smileys/emoticons and images in to your emails
- Make the navigation (Inbox, Starred, Sent Mail, etc) horizontal
- Fix the navigation in place so that you don’t have to scroll to the top of the page to see it
- Zebra stripes on mailbox - pretty!
- Change the attachment paperclip (on inbox) to an icon indicating the type of attachment
- Hide various page elements (invite panel, page footer, your email address from the top right of inbox - may be useful for public computers)
Often, when I login to my gmail I account, I see the usual “Loading…” thing and then nothing, it just freezes. I Searched for a fix and managed to find two work-arounds for this issue:
#1 - Try logging in from https://gmail.google.com instead of www.gmail.com
#2 - If the first did not work, try the usual C.C.C : “clear your cache and cookies”
Did the above tips work for you? do you have another work-around?
Just a quickie to say that Gmail has added the long awaited feature: err… well, a Delete button! that deletes your messages with only one click. check it out. What’s also new on gmail?
